Starting from the front at the home-race in Hungary: Norbert Michelisz and the MOL Group Zengő Motorsport finished a tough qualifying session on a high note.
By managing tenth overall, Norbert claimed pole-position for the second FIA WTCC MOL Group race of Hungary on Sunday and gave himself the chance to shine on home soil. On race-day, the No. 5 Honda Civic WTCC driver will try to improve his home record in order to be able to once again wave to the crowds from the podium.
But first things first – here is what Norbert had to say after qualifying at the Hungaroring: "It was difficult, as expected. I realized soon that my performance would not be good enough to fight for the top 3 or even for Q3. Therefore, we decided to go for tactics instead. At the end of Q2 we saw a possibility. Fortunately it paid off. I am happy to start race 2 from pole-position."
In Q1 Norbert crossed the line in ninth, recording a lap-time of 1:50,820 minutes as second-best Honda driver in the 17-strong FIA WTCC field, therefore earning the right to compete in Q2, too. With the Citroën drivers dominating the result sheet once again, Norbert finished tenth in the second session with a time of 1:50,301 minutes which meant another improvement for the Hungarian race driver.
