Norbert Michelisz and the MOL Group Zengő Motorsport team feel at home at the Slovakia Ring. It is because each year thousands of Hungarian fans come to this race track to cheer their heroes.
2015 will be no exemption of the rule, especially considering the success Norbert enjoyed in Slovakia during the last couple of years: Ever since the Slovakia Ring was included in the FIA WTCC calendar, Norbert managed to get a top 5 spot on the grid. In fact, when the championship drove there for the first time in 2012, it was Norbert who stormed to his first ever WTCC pole-position in emphatic style. And both in 2013 and 2014, the Hungarian took the flag in third and stood on the podium.
Therefore, it is no surprise Norbert has come to like the Slovakian venue. "I love racing on the Slovakia Ring because usually many Hungarian fans come to see us", he says. "Also, this was the place where I was on pole-position for the first time in WTCC and scored consecutive podium finishes in the last two years." More of the same kind is what Norbert has in mind for the sixth race weekend of the 2015 FIA WTCC season: "After a race victory in Hungary and a podium finish in Moscow my goal is to score as many points as possible this weekend. But I also know that this is going to be difficult because of the success ballast we have to carry."
Due to the latest results, all Honda drivers will be on equal weight with the cars from championship leaders Citroën for the first time this year, both makes carrying additional 60 kilograms.
