Norbert Michelisz and the MOL Group Zengő Motorsport team leave China with a sense of mission accomplished. The Hungarian outfit managed to secure points even though a disappointing qualifying had left them only 15th on the grid for both races.
Norbert in his No. 5 Honda Civic WTCC fought bravely to finish sixth in race one which earned him eight valuable points for the 2015 FIA WTCC World Drivers’ Championship. He remains fifth in the overall standings, just behind the all-dominating Citroën works drivers and directly in front of Honda works driver Gabriele Tarquini in sixth. Race two proved to be much more difficult for Norbert and he only finished in eleventh place, just missing out on another point. However, with that he was third in class of the Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy and therefore successfully defended his lead in the categorie’s standings. With two race weekends to go Norbert has a cushion of 25 points while Zengő Motorsport remains third in the Yokohama Teams’ Trophy, having reduced the gap to leaders ROAL Motorsport.
