After several weeks away from the race tracks Norbert Michelisz and the MOL Group Zengő Motorsport team are ready to go again. The Hungarian outfit is eager to discover yet another new destination for FIA WTCC.

This time, they embark on an adventure in Thailand where they are to race at the recently-built Chang International Circuit at Buriram. It’s a first for most of the drivers – and the second but last stop of the 2015 FIA WTCC season.

For Norbert and his team there is plenty to fight for in Thailand as Norbert still ranks fifth in the World Drivers’ Championship after 20 out of 24 races. With 172 points to his name, he’s not only the best-placed privateer in the standings but also the most successful Honda driver. Plus Norbert leads the way in the 2015 Yokohama Driver’s Trophy and with a bit of luck may secure the title this weekend already.

However, Norbert’s No. 5 Honda Civic WTCC will once again carry 40 kilos of compensation weight due to recent results at Vila Real, Motegi and Shanghai. Both Chevrolet RML and Lada will race without additional ballast which will in turn make things tough for the Honda drivers.

Plus Buriram is a circuit where, due to its twisty nature, weight hurts your lap time. Therefore, it remains to be seen how Norbert and the MOL Group Zengő Motorsport team can cope with their handicap weight. But one thing is for sure: Norbert will give his best during the two races scheduled for 14 laps each on the 4.5 kilometer track.

FIA WTCC adopts a two-day weekend format at Thailand with all practice sessions taking place on Saturday while qualifying and both races will be staged on Sunday.

You can follow Norbert Michelisz and the MOL Group Zengő Motorsport team online at FIAWTCC.com where live timing will be provided for all sessions. Eurosport’s network will broadcast both races live or time-delayed on TV.
